Newmarket has recently been one of the fastest growing municipalities in the Greater Toronto Area. Neighbourhoods such as Woodland Hill, Summerhill Estates and Stonehaven-Wyndham have been growing with new detached homes as well as townhouses and semis. Amenities such as shopping, employment opportunities and parks and trails have expanded, are attractive to new home buyers, and keep existing residents in the Town.
The ten neighbourhoods that make up Newmarket are listed below with the sales for freehold properties separated into the various property types. Throughout the town most of the sales are detached homes, but freehold and condominium townhomes are expanding in number while semi-detached homes have always been an integral part of the community. There is now a broader spectrum of buying options, styles, elevations and price ranges for home owners and investors.

For the 4 months of 2016, the greatest number of homes were sold in Woodland Hill, Stonehaven-Wyndham and Summerhill Estates. Most of the recent new homes have been built here, so it is understandable that home buyers are attracted to these neighbourhoods. Most of the townhome sales have come from Summerhill Estates and Woodland Hill, while semi-detached homes sell more in Bristol-London and Woodland Hill. The highest average sales come from Stonehaven-Wyndham and Glenway Estates.
